The main objective of the project is the development of a multi-material hybrid technology that allows the manufacture of devices with advanced materials. One of the first approaches made consists of the introduction of micro-nano particles to photosensitive resins to increase their mechanical and resistant properties. During 2017, the CIM UPC developed an algorithm based on a numerical discretization that allows modelling the printing process of DLP technology, obtaining the final dimensions of the piece, as well as the degree of conversion of the material, allowing to increase the resolution of the technology.  

Using this optimization algorithm, it calculates the colour of each pixel in the mask that is projected for each layer of material to be printed. That is, each of the pixels can have a different colour in grayscale. Furthermore, it makes it possible to determine the light intensity or exposure time of each pixel to obtain more homogeneous and controlled photoconverted values.
